Grant Hinkle Wins The Largest non-main Event Field in World Series of Poker History

Event Number 2 of the World Series Of Poker, the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em, has been decided and the winner is a 27 year old high tech marketing industry worker from Kansas. Grant Hinkle, who now may be thinking about quitting his job, took down a paycheck of $831,462 as he claimed the victory and the prized bracelet after outlasting a field of 3,929 players in the largest non main event WSOP tournament ever.

The tournament lasted an exhausting 53.5 hours; making it the fourth longest tournament in WSOP history, and it all came to an end in an unbelievable final hand that was too good to be true. Hinkle was on the button with 10, 4 and raised to 350,000, Akenhead re-raised to 1,200,000 with A,K, Hinkle without hesitation moved all-in and Akenhead made a mandatory call. The flop was an absolute miracle for Hinkle as it dropped 10,10,4 and he flopped a full house, the turn brought another ten giving him quads and the fairytale had come true for Hinkle as he captured over $800K and the prestigious Bracelet.
