The 2008 Pokerstars World Chapmionship Of Online Poker has come to an end and the winner of the main event was Carter King, also known as “ckingusc” at the PokerStars tables, he won the grueling two day event and captured the largest prize pool in online poker history.

The prize pool for the event was pushed well over $10 Million with a total field of 2,185 players who each bought in for $5000 Cash. It was a record for an online poker tournament and 324 players ended up cashing from the event, however only one player could emerge victorious and the capture the prized bracelet. The stakes were pretty high and the final five players ended up cutting a deal to chop the pot, the highest portion went to Liberace who was the chip leader at the time and the rest of the money was distributed evenly between the remaining players, with $200,000 and the bracelet still left to play for.

The game continued on and finished with ckingusc taking home the Honors and the prestigious bracelet, while liberace ended up second, he did receive the higher payday though.

Full Tilt Poker is home to some of the craziest High Stakes Cash Game play online and just a few days ago we saw a couple of the biggest pots ever to be won in online poker. The first pot was played out between trex313 and Patatino (an account that is rumored to belong to Guy Laliberte) on the RailHeaven Table, and their starting stacks were $297,766.50 and $307,080 respectively. Both players were all-in on a flop of 10-6-8 with two diamonds on the board, and they revealed some interesting hands, trex313 showed Jd,9d and had a open ended straight draw plus a jack high flush draw and Patatino showed Qd2d to be infront with his queen high flush draw. The pot stood at approx $609K and it was won by Patatino with a pair of twos on the turn. The second largest pot in online history was played a few hours later and luckily for trex313 he was on the right side of the action this time, as he rivered durrrr to beat him out of a $522K cash pot, check out how the hand went down.

phil-ivey-hustle.jpgPhil Ivey didn’t start the month of August in good shape as he was down almost $350K during the first half of the month; however he continued hustling till the end of the month and managed to turn things around to rake in an overall profit of over $868K from the High Stakes Cash Games over at Full Tilt Poker. David Benyamine, who was up around $1.1 Million during the first half of the month ended up giving half his winnings back and finished the month with a total profit of around $580K. He did finish on a strong note though as he won this huge hand against theASHMAN103 with K,3 suited to take down a $203K Pot. Although currently this month, despite Benyamine winning that huge hand last month, is down around $283K after 31 sessions and 1044 hands.

Phil Ivey on the other hand, after his great comeback in August, is off to a remarkable start in September and is up around $1.2 Million in only a few days of action at the Full Tilt Tables. Ivey has put in a lot of work though when compared with other players and is constantly hustling as he has played 2633 hands in 41 sessions, all amounting to approx 42 hours of play in around 2 and a half days, Now that’s a lot of Poker! Well when you’re up $1.2 Mil from simply playing poker I guess you can’t get enough. Check Out this Monster Hand Against durrrr Where Ivey Takes down a $248K pot.
