patrikantonius.jpgGus Hansen and Patrick Antonius are off to a perfect start in the month of November as they are both up well over 500K already, from just 5 days of action over at the high stakes tables on Full Tilt Poker. Gus Hansen is just fresh from a remarkable month on Full Tilt in October, where he pocketed an amazing $3,446,855 in total profits, easily making him the biggest winner on the site, Phil Ivey was the next closest competitor sitting on about $1.9 Million worth of profits.

Looks like Gus’s rush is continuing into the month of November as he has collected a nice $550K worth of profits already, putting him in the number two spot so far at full tilt, the biggest winner so far for November is Patrick Antonius, he is up a total of $750K. The winnings are much needed for a wounded Patrick Antonius who is recovering from a very disappointing month in October, in which he dropped around $1.3 Million. In the midst of his comeback it seems like Antonius’s luck has turned around so much that it has led him to win his biggest pot ever online, the pot was worth 606K, and as it appears Antonius cracked LarsLuzak aces full, how’s that for lucky, check out how the hand went down.

Shannon Elizabeth is probably best known for her sizzling performance in the hit teen flick American Pie, She’s also stared in many other movies like Scary Movie, Tomcats and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Besides pursuing her numerous acting ventures and engaging in her Hollywood Lifestyle, Shannon Elizabeth can be regularly found at the Poker Tables. Elizabeth describes herself as a dedicated poker player and claims poker is her “second career”, she has also been noted as one of the leading celebrity poker players. She claims to visit Las Vegas up to three times each month to participate in poker games with the top players of the United States.

Considering Shannon is born and raised in Houston Texas, I believe it is in her roots to play cards. She first learned poker by playing stud and draw games with her family back in Texas. She was introduced to the game of No Limit Texas Holdem later on her Hollywood career and at first she really disliked the game due to the lack of opportunities to draw new cards. However her views on the game were later altered when she began to get mentored from Poker Pros Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari.

With the Magician and the Unabomber as her guides, Elizabeth pursued her poker career with much intensity, playing in home games in Los Angeles and appearing on major televised events. She appeared on Celebrity Poker Showdown, on Calvin Klein’s 2nd Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament, and played in many other celebrity poker tournaments.

Shannon has been one the most visible actresses on the worldwide poker scene, since making her appearance on celebrity poker showdown there has been no stopping this poker hottie. She played in the Main Event of the 2005 World Series of Poker and barley missed cashing in on the money, however she did win a special celebrity tournament celebrating the opening of a new poker room at Caesars Palace hotel in January 2006, beating out 83 celebrities and poker professionals to win $55,000. Her game improved over the years and in the 2006 and 2007 World Series Of Poker she ended up cashing out four times. Another notable performance put in by Elizabeth was at the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship, where she managed to make the semi-finals after defeating some well known names such as Barry Greenstein and Jeff Madsen.

Elizabeth’s addiction with poker has caused her to intertwine her two careers together and she can be seen starring in the new Movie “Deal”. The Movie is about an ex-gambler who teaches an extremely talented kid the ins and outs of poker, leading him to the World Series Of Poker, the only problem is that his protégé proves to be his hardest competition. Elizabeth like usual, is sexually involved in the movie as she plays a Las Vegas Hooker. Aside from her movie and poker career Elizabeth has also appeared in some steamy photoshoots over the years, posing for Playboy and Maxim Magazine. Overall I think its pretty safe to label Shannon Elizabeth as a Poker Hottie, it is more than likely she turns plenty of heads every time she plays in a live tournament. However if you are still unsure, then check out the pics below, they should remove any doubts you have.

Gus Hansen Player Bio

If there is one player that is feared and respected at the poker table at all times, it is The Great Dane, that’s what he is known as. Gus Hansen is one of my favorite players to watch, in my opinion he is the best player in the poker world today. It just amazes me to watch him take pots away from his opponents time after time with inferior starting hands, he has an uncanny knack of knowing exactly what moves to make on what players, it has to come down to his extraordinary ability to read his opponents.

His style of play is considered loose-aggressive and while this playing style can spell disaster for the majority of the poker world, Gus executes it to perfection and it has caused him to become an extremely profitable and entertaining player to watch. Gus Hansen has earned the respect of all poker players in the world with his super intellect and his remarkable abilities in poker.

Gus Hansen was born in Danish capitol Copenhagen in the mid 70s. During his late childhood, Gus played games like Backgammon and reached world class play. At around the age of 20, Gus decided that the Danish backgammon market wasn’t big enough. He invested his money on a trip to the United States of America and ended up in Santa Cruz, California and began playing at the card rooms. He broke into the mainstream poker world during the debut season of the World Poker Tour. He entered the event at the Bellagio casino, paid the buy-in fee for the World Poker Tour: Five-Diamond World Poker Classic. A total of 147 players participated and Gus Hansen’s investment later became the turning point in his poker career. He won the tournament and cashed in for over half a million Dollars. During that first season alone, he made final tables at two major events, and he won both events. He also won The Bad Boys of Poker WPT event in the second season.

Overall Gus Hansen has won over 1.5 million dollars in these WPT events, more than any other player in the world. He makes an otherwise often mundane game very interesting to watch. He is certainly the focus of the entire table whenever he sits down.

One saying from Gus Hansen is “Always play the player and not the player’s cards”. Well there’s the secret to his play, not that hard huh? Think again. To the average poker player Gus appears to play horrible poker, he bets at the wrong time with no hand, he will raise with 74 off suit, he bullies the other players with large bets. He takes advantage of the other players by knowing exactly how they will react to any of his bets. Most players think he is a donkey and gets lucky, but Gus makes his own luck, he has an uncanny knack of knowing when he is beat and will only go to showdowns with his good hands, and he bluffs players out of the pot with his inferior hands. You combine this erratic style play with his mathematical genius and you have a poker player that is to be feared all over the world.

What makes Gus so exciting to watch is that he will take a lot of chances that most other players are scared to take. Not all players can accomplish this successfully but you will amazed at how many times Gus will catch the cards he needs, I believe the secret to his success is that he plays his poker with no fear, playing fearlessly might also cause lady luck to be on his side. Occasionally his style of play will go wrong but Gus’ winnings and success have proved that his style of play can be profitable if executed properly.

Achievements:

-Hansen was inducted into the World Poker Tour Walk of Fame

- He has won four WPT titles

– He won the Aussie Millions main event, winning $1.2 million,
