Today, it is unquestionable that Texas Hold’em Poker is the most commonly played Poker game anywhere in the world. It has mostly gained its popularity from the World Series of Poker Tournament, World Poker Tour and other televised events these days. The World Series of Poker has been held annually since its opening date in 1970 at the Horseshoe in Downtown Las Vegas. Every year since then, more and more Texas Hold’em Poker Tournaments have developed on a global scale, and many people are trying to get in on the action. The global revolution of poker can also be thanked partly to Chris MoneyMaker, a normal accountant from Tennessee who took down the WSOP main event in 2003. Chris Moneymaker gave every normal individual hope that anyone can play poker and anyone can win, as long you play the game and your opponents correctly, ( Chris MoneyMaker Plays At Poker Stars ).

Online poker is the new craze and it’s Worldwide, a multibillion-dollar industry and it continues to grow. The three factors behind its increased profile are television coverage of big tournaments, the convenience of playing online and the enjoyment and challenge of the game itself. Internet Poker has its pros and cons, (I personally prefer to play live), however on the internet you have 24 hours access, you remain anonymous, you can play more hands and play multiple tables at once and you also have access to big tournaments with prize pools in excess of $500,000. So it’s pretty easy to see why people get addicted pretty quickly. Compared with most other forms of gambling, poker is compelling because, online or off, it relies far more on a player’s skill than, say, roulette or blackjack, says Party Poker consultant and world series host, Mike Sexton.

In Australia, the win by Joe Hachem at the WSOP main event which made him an instant millionaire has caused poker to become one the most popular games played in Australia. Hachem Stunned the world of poker after beating a record-breaking 5,618 player field in the World Series of Poker 2005, where he won a tremendous prize cash sum of $7,500,000. Joseph Hachem used to work as a mortgage broker and a chiropractor before his fortune changed and he struck gold in the world of poker, Joe has made the average Australian believe that they to have a shot at the WSOP and can become a multi millionaire ( Joe Hachem Plays At Poker Stars ). Anyhow the game has taken the country by storm and you can play poker at almost every pub in Sydney for absolutely free and win cash, poker nights are rapidly becoming a popular fixture in Sydney pubs and clubs. The National Poker League (NPL) and The Australian Poker League (APL) have tournaments set up all over Sydney and the number of clubs participating has increased exponentially over the past few years.

“Australian Hotels Association executive officer David Elliott said the popularity of the nights had taken off in the past six months following Mr Hachem’s big win, in which he pocketed $US7.5 million ($10 million).”

“Poker nights have become the new trivia nights,” Mr Elliott said. “Both pubs and clubs have taken it by storm.”

To give you an idea of how many people are now playing with real-money online, have a look at PokerPulse.com. Poker Pulse keeps tabs on the top online poker rooms and tracks how many real-money poker games are running at any point in time. Some estimates based upon these statistics suggest that online poker room companies are turning over in excess of $110 million U.S. every 24 hours, with hundreds of thousands of online players active any given evening.

So, with the worldwide inertia that poker has today, how far can it go? Will it be here for a while than suddenly disappear? Will it be just another fad and memory, with occasional reminders like Smokey and the Bandit? Hard to say for sure, but with the momentum, advertising and so many young people, including many teenagers and children playing across the Internet these days, it could be that the poker big bang has occurred and its expansion has only really begun. A lot of people are having fun playing in online poker rooms, at traditional casinos in their own home games, and at pubs and clubs- On the other end of the spectrum there are an army of people supplying the demand for this revolution and they are making a ton of money in the process. It is up to you how you want to cash in on this revolution.

The past few days have brought me some incredible luck and i have had a really good week so far as i am up about $1500. Some of the hands that i have won have even surprised me, and i am fairly used to getting lucky at the poker table, (mind you i do have my bad runs were i get sucked out on regularly, so i guess it evens out but anyways), i have flopped straights, got flushes, made got shot straights and two pair was almost a regular occurrence.

It all started on Monday night, i was at a Freeroll at a local pub and i felt my luck begin to change (I am coming of a bad run where i hadn’t won some cash in a while so i was getting worried), my ace queen and ace jacks finally started hitting and i started to win some pots. I made a few god hands and had a healthy stack by the end of the first break and i was happy to see my luck finally change and i started to believe i can actually win some money again. After the break i was involved in a hand where i was small blind holding (3,5), and on the flop i have hit a 3, the button bets half the pot and i call thinking she was trying to steal the pot. The turn comes a 5 and i now have two pair, i check to trap her and the trap worked perfectly, she came out betting and i re raised her all-in. She called and flipped over (8,6), she had a pair of sixes and i was excited to see my luck continuing because if i took down this pot i will be in a very good position to win the tournament. The river is an 8 and she makes a higher two pair and i loose a massive pot, shortly after that hand i was eliminated. I was devastated, just when i thought my luck was changing the same bad beats started occurring again.

However the hustle never stops and i put that beat behind me and was back on the grind again the next day, this time i am playing a $20 re-buy tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of 2K, 1st prize takes down 1 grand. This is when i couldn’t believe my eyes, the tournament started out normal, i was plugging along winning a few pots here and there and i had a normal stack. But then i pick up 3,2 suited on the button (i got a good feeling about the hand and it looked pretty sexy), i have about 5gs and the Big Blind is 800, i decide to call as most players are out except 1 and the blinds. The flop brings out (K, 3, 2), BB comes out betting and bets a bit less than the pot, the action folds around to me and i move all in as i have two pair. BB calls and turns over K,5 , he doesn’t catch any cards and i take down the pot. This is when it all began, after this pot i was just unstoppable, i made my flushes, flopped straights, made gut shot straights, you name it, the luck just wouldn’t stop. Heres a few hands i played

1. Me – (K,9)

Opponent – (A,A)

Board – (K, 7, J)

Turn – 7

River – K

I have Kings full of sevens on the river and i cracked pocket aces, who was unfortunately trying to slow play them.

2. Another Hand – against same opponent

Me ( K,J)

Opp (J,8)

BOARD (A,10,9)

Turn – Q

River – A

Board – ( A, 10 , 9, Q, A)

I made the Broadway straight on the turn and my opponent made a queen high straight, he pushed all in on the river and i took all his chips, people were amazed when i turned over (KJ) last, they couldn’t believe it.

Anyways cut a long story short i won that tournament and took down the first prize of $950. Now i had to celebrate, so what did i do, i went and played more poker, this time at a local poker room where they run single table sit-n-gos on demand. I played 2 games with a $30 buy in, and yes my luck continued. I ended up smashing my first table as i was in a commanding chip lead, i was holding two thirds of the chips on the table and there were only 3 people remaining from a full table when the blinds were still 50 – 100 (2nd blind level). I knocked out about 6 people in the space of about ten minutes, my luck was shooting through the roof, i couldn’t believe this shit was happening, here are a few of my hands and judge for yourself.

Hand 1 – I’m just going to mention what i was holding as i cant quite recall exactly what my opponents had.
Me (3,6)

Board (2,5,4)

Turn – 2

River – 3

I Flopped the nut straight and took out 2 people.

Hand 2-

Me (7,4)

Board ( 7, 8, 4)

Turn – 5

River – 7

I made a full house on the river, i eliminated 1 player on this hand, again the table was burning and couldn’t believe it.

I ended up winning the two games i played and was up another $370, so all up for the night i had won over $1300, i was pretty happy considering i hadn’t won a single sit-N-go or tournament for over 2 weeks.

Now Today i have just returned from playing 2 sit-n-gos as i am typing this entry and i did alright again, i won 1 out of 2 and am up $200 for the day. So finally it felt good to regain some of my lost luck and start winning again, i was sick and tired of seeing my pocket kings being beaten by A,x, my AK getting crushed by mediocre hands and other ridiculous beats. Over the past few weeks i suffered some of the worst beats and was getting very frustrated with the whole game in general, however lady luck has come to the rescue and i am back on the grind again.

Although, i have changed my playing style over the past few days as i am sick of getting beaten when i have high cards in my hand, i have started to play with lower cards and suited connectors alot more and what do you know, they end up hitting alot more than those high cards. Also When you do hit no one expects you to have those low cards and you end up taking down huge pots as people usually push on a low flop, thinking everyone missed. Although you must know when and who to play against when you have these low cards (e.g. [5-6], [7,4], [7,8]), you don’t want to play against tight aggressive players because they usually have a hand and even if you do hit your hand they will most likely pick it up and not pay you off, you also don’t want to play to many of them(Low Cards) because often they will get you into trouble. But Don’t get me wrong I’m not telling you to play with low cards, I’m just saying occasionally when you get that odd feeling or you pick up your favorite hand which could be 8,6 give it a shot and if you hit something good e.g. 2 pair or straight, i guarantee you will take down a huge pot as your oppenents will never figure out what you have. I,m not talking about hands like 7,2 and 8,3 etc. these hands are awful, only play hands that are either connected or have straight draw possibilities e.g. 7,4 3,5 10,9 8,6 etc. I played 3,6 twice today and both times i flopped the nut straight. I played with AK three times today, i won with it once and that was from a bluff, so don’t think those low cards will never do you any good.

Anyways in the meantime i am very happy with my comeback and am excited to see where this new playing style takes me, i have been playing aggressive and fearless poker recently and it has been working incredibly to my advantage.

Welcome to my Blog,

This site is dedicated to the great game known as Texas Holdem no limit poker, as you already know there has been a recent explosion in the popularity of the game and the number of people playing the game have increased exponentially over the past few years. This is probably due to the large advertising campaigns adopted by online poker rooms and also because there so many televised events these days, e.g. WPT, WSOP etc. All this commotion has caused the online poker world to become flooded with new players who think they are seasoned pros because they have seen a few episodes of the WSOP, in reality they are bad players whose money is virtually up for grabs. Now if you are a regular poker player than you know that poker is a continuous hustle and to become a winning player you must know who, where and how to hustle these bad players.

On PokerRoomHustle i will show you the best (fishiest) online poker rooms to play at, offer regular advice and tips on how to improve your game, share essential poker strategy and much more stuff that should help you hustle your way to a larger bankroll. I will mainly be focusing on No-Limit Cash Games and single table Sit-N-Gos and occasionally i may share my personal bad beat stories or i how i got lucky and sucked out on the river. So once again welcome , i hope you can enjoy and benefit from the information offered on this site in some way, and remember; to never stop Hustlin.
